We’ll take you on a one of a kind journey through the beautiful landscapes of Sapa to meet the colorful people that call the mountains home. Our local tour guides will take you on the small village trails to visit farming communities and introduce you to the beauty of a life not lived in many other parts of the world.

ITINERARY:

Sapa H'mong the hills Itinerary

1ST NIGHT

Take off from Hanoi on our overnight sleeper bus at 9PM to be in Sapa at the crack of dawn

1ST DAY

11KM TREK TA VAN - LAO CHAI - Y LING HO (B,L,D)

A taxi will be waiting at the bus station to pick you up and take you to our modern homestay in Ta Van Village to have breakfast and store your luggage. Along the way you’ll stop and have a chance to snap some pictures of Sapa’s famous mountains and rice terraces.

After breakfast you will set off on a scenic trek deep into the national park where you’ll witness farmers tending their land and grazing their livestock. We take you away from the other groups travelling around Sapa and show you what life is really like in this mountainous area.

You will trek through the paddle fields, hills, streams to Lao Chai village.

You will have lunch at a local restaurant, enjoy a little bit of free time to visit the Junior school, to witness the daily life of the black H'Mong and Dao people.

After a break you will trek to Y Ling Ho village and then come back to Ta Van homestay to have dinner and rest up for tomorrow's trek.

2ND DAY

7KM TREK TA VAN - SEO MI TI - GIANG TA CHAI & BUS BACK TO HANOI (B,L,D)

Wake up to the morning mist and the sounds of the village as the locals start their day. You will have breakfast at our homestay then start the scenic trek back to Lao Chai Village, home of the Hmong people.

You will get unique insight on the HMong people’s way of life as our guide takes you through her home and explains everything about growing food to raising livestock in this mountainous area.

Once you arrive back at our homestay for lunch you will pack up your gear and head back to Sapa to pick up any last minute souvenirs before catching a 4pm bus back to Hanoi.

You will trek to the bamboo forest, Seo Mi Ti village and Giang Ta Chai's waterfall to witness the daily life of the H'Mong and the Red Dao people.

After a break to enjoy the fabulous view from the waterfall, you will trek back to Ta Van homestay to have lunch and pack up your gear head back to Sapa by a car.

You will have 1 hour to pick up any last minute souvernirs before catching a 4PM bus back to Hanoi.

WANT TO TACKLE FANSIPAN?

Climb to the ‘roof of Indochina’ on our 2 Day Fansipan expedition. Breathe in the air at 3,143 metres (10,312 ft) and take in a view that few people visiting Vietnam get to see. This is a strenuous hike; a good amount of physical fitness is required to reach the peak. If you think you have what it takes to make it to the summit then you can add our Fansipan expedition onto our Sapa Tribes trip.

FAQ:

  1. Where can I store my backpack?

    You can store your backpack at our hostel for free and pick it up when you return.

  2. What should I bring?

    Remember, Sapa is at a much higher altitude than Hanoi so it gets a lot colder. In the winter months (Dec – Apr) expect temperatures to reach as low as 0c. Be sure to bring warm clothes and a sturdy pair of shoes for the trek. Also remember to bring a rain jacket, sunscreen, insect repellant and all your shower stuff as well (toothbrush, towel, etc).

  3. What’s included?

    Your guide, all your meals, park entrance fees, accommodations and transportation.

  4. What’s not included?

    Personal insurance, drinks and trekking equipment.

  5. I’m a vegetarian/vegan, should I bring my own food?

    If you have any allergies or special food requirements, let us know. We can have something special prepared for you.

  6. Can I stay longer in Sapa after the trek?

    Let us know if you want to stay longer. We can arrange for your return bus to bring you back to Hanoi a few days later than scheduled if you want to spend more time in Sapa.

  7. What time are we back in Hanoi?

    You will arrive back in Hanoi around 10pm. One of our staff members will meet you at the bus stop to bring you back to our hostel.
